Eary in 2001 a loyal and successful xxxxxx employee was fired and subsequently arrested on criminal harassment charges. This person seemingly had harassed and perhaps even threatened one of it's employees. Or so it seemed.

But it was a lie. This person found out the accuser was saying terrible things about him, the company and people in the company and that she could not be trusted. But instead of turning her in to her manager he confronted her with it first. She couldn't dispute the allegations and so fearing for her job, she made up a story saying he threatened her to discredit him before he could report her. The next day he was fired but never informed of the real reasons why. He realized what she had done when the police phoned him a few days later. Now, very concerned that she had him fired and almost arrested, he tried to apologize to get her to stop ruining his life. She ignored him and continued her assault on his life by informing co-workers and others he had threatened her. Shortly after, with no job and the allegations hanging over him, he became so distressed he almost took his own life - and how did she respond? By having him arrested and thrown in jail!

22.wav "Why this person really called the police"

The truth is that while at first I believed the stories about him I slowly began to discover the truth. We kept in contact and he provided me with several audio tapes and when I heard them and his side of the story I knew the truth: He was fired not because he harassed or threatened anyone, but because of what he knew and we likely fired him because we were afraid of being exposed.

She has been lying, deceiving and using people to advance her career and so far it's worked. But if our company, it's partners and customers and her friends & family knew the truth, I'm sure they would feel much differently about her and us as I now do. And so now I want everyone else to know the truth too.

1. Here's discussion about a confrontation Person 1 had with company CEO Russell. (1.wav)

Person 1:
"I said, 'uh Russ, Susan said she left you a voice mail. Didn't you, didn't you get it? You know, didn't you hear it or whatever?' And he's like 'No, Susan left me no voice mail'. That's a lie. Right? And then he said 'You were there. I know you were there. I was told you were there, taking notes.'".

Person 2:
"Yeah."

Person 1:
"And I said, 'Yes, I was' and he's like 'I want the notes. Give them to me now.' And I'm like, 'I don't have them. I have them at home.' And he's like 'at home, eh?' like he kind of smirked. and he, and I'm like 'Well, I can bring them in tomorrow.' And he's like, 'Yes. You bring them in tomorrow.' Then he just left."

Person 2:
"Have you talked to Susan?"

Person 1:
"Yeah, she told me not to give him the notes because they implicate him."

Person 2:
"Okay."

Person 1:
"I can't give him the notes, he'll destroy them. I know why he wants them."

2. Here Person 1 is acting really paranoid wondering why people are being so nice to her. (2.wav)

Person 1:
"And people were being nice to me Kevin. Like Tammy was talking to me again, and Dave XXXXXX."

Person 2:
"Yeah."

Person 1:
"It's like. You know what? Like, they're probably gonna fire me. Like I'm hoping they do but like why are they, like, being nice all the sudden. Like they're just being normal, like nothing every happened. But the day before they were on Vic's side and they were ignoring me."

3. Ever wonder how much an "HR Generalist" makes? Apparently a lot when you are good friends with your manager! Thanks Susan! And now Person 1 has your job! (3.wav)

Person 1:
"I got my big raise, I'm making 55k now."

Person 2:
"What? Since when?"

Person 1:
"It's going to go. Everything's going to go. My courses. My everything. My desk. My mahogany desk."

4. More paranoia - the office phone lines were all bugged. (4.wav)

Person 1:
"And I was bugged, Kevin. My phone was bugged. They heard everything."

Person 2:
"Yeah."

Person 1:
"I can't even talk ... like, I'm paranoid even as we speak. Like, I just, I can't believe, like, what has happened."

Person 2:
"Well, you know what ..."

Person 1:
"I have to conduct all these calls like from across the street from a phone booth."

5. Person 1, The Paranoid, part 2. (5.wav)

Person 1:
"Susan. Her system has been shut down. She can't even send an e-mail. Yesterday, she tried to send an e-mail from hers and she was shut down when she tried to send it. So she went and she typed it out on my computer ... and she thought she sent it but they intercepted it because I checked under my Sent Items and it wasn't there. "

Person 2:
"oh yeah."

Person 1:
"It. Nobody ever got it. They stopped it."

6. Sales guys? Person 1 knows what you've been up to. (6.wav)

Person 1:
"They are so excited, they just don't get it."

Person 2:
"No, they just don't know."

Person 1:
"The sales team sold Waqar down the river too."

7. Yes, it's true: Person 1 knew Victoria was spreading horrible rumours about Waqar but did nothing about it. Wouldn't she make an ideal HR Manager? (7.wav)

Person 1:
"I really think she was played and didn't realize until yesterday what she really did."

Person 2:
"Well, I have no sympathy."

Person 1:
"I know ... well what she did to Waqar ... there is proof of it. I know because she was telling me about it. I know she's evil. I know that if she doesn't like you she'll destroy you for no reason."

Person 2:
"Well you said that a long time ago."

8. What Person 1 really thinks about Barbara, Susan's sister and former employee and good friend. (8.wav)

Person 2:
"... Basically if it's just you and Barb. Well Barb isn't any kind of protection."

Person 1:
"She's no manager. Like she's so afraid. She doesn't wanna like, put herself out there at all for anything or anyone."

9. What Person 1 really thinks of our CEO Russell. I wonder if he would've taken her to San Fransisco if he knew she think he's "slimy", among other things? (9.wav)

Person 1:
"Well I was telling people how I'm catching a cold and stuff. I told Russell in the morning too cause he was making comments. You know what he told me? He's like 'Well you take care of yourself. I wouldn't want you getting sick.' I'm like 'Eww, that sounds so slimy!'"

10. Here's the truth about company CTO Mark and why he is really working for us. (10.wav)

Person 1:
"Rayan bailed him (Mark)."

Person 2:
"Yeah."

Person 1:
"He is guilty. One of the charges are against him."

Person 2:
"Oh really?"

Person 1:
"Yeah."

Person 2:
"I never heard ... the stories I read didn't say him directly."

Person 1:
"No, there's another one."

Person 2:
"Oh nice."

Person 1:
"A real one. And he ran to Rayan for help. And supposedly Rayan set it up so in a way because he -- he works under Canadian laws right? And he had to do something with his citizenship. That he's not an American -- ahh, I don't know how you call it -- citizen, or an American something for the time being so that's why they can't charge him. And it's not going to court because he's under Canadian -- he's protected by Canadian law now."

11. What Person 1 thinks of company founder Rayan's hiring practices. (11.wav)

Person 1:
"So Rayan like knows all the -- all the users and the losers, you know, and he employs them. And then expects them to move the company forward. Like how?"

12. And did you know that Russell was fired from his last company? (12.wav)

Person 1:
"And Russ XXXXXX was fired from his last job because you know what he did?"

Person 2:
"What?"

Person 1:
"He went into this company where -- it wasn't a -- like a really ..."

Person 2:
"Family run?"

Person 1:
"Yeah."

Person 2:
"The family-run one? Yeah, Susan was telling me."

Person 1:
"Yeah. And he basically divided and tried to conquer, right. And they kicked him out. Because he was going against what the founders had set up and what their values were and against the founder's employees."

13. Person 1's thoughts on co-worker Andrew ...

Person 2:
"Andrew's another one. Andrew doesn't even look at me, since I've been back."

Person 1:
"Andrew's weird. His loyalty shifts by the hour. He has disappointed me in that way because you know, he was standing by Susan the day before and you know, he came forward with information you know about the whole Waqar thing ... and then yesterday he was kind of questioning her. I'm like 'Andrew ... I told you this. Don't do this to us now when we're in so deep.'"

14. ... And Cindy ....

Person 1:
"Even Cindy can't be trusted. Do you have a bad feeling about that girl?"

Person 2:
"I have no feeling. You know -- with me, by default, I don't trust anyone."

15. And what does Person 1 think of the efforts of new CEO Russ?

Person 1:
"But Russell hasn't done anything either."

Person 2:
"Nothing."

Person 1:
"What has he done since he's come besides bugging the phone?"

16. Apparently Person 1 may have had something to do with our pool table being removed. And isn't she so fond of our culturally diverse company?

Person 1:
"What's with Mirko and Yoawen always playing pool all day? What the fuck's up with them?"

Person 2:
"I don't know, they got nothing else to do."

Person 1:
"Does no one do any work?"

Person 2:
"Uh, I don't know."

Person 1:
"That guy irritates me."

Person 2:
"He's okay. I go and talk to him and stuff. He's -- he just doesn't understand English that well."

Person 1:
"Like 'duh, no kidding'. You don't say."

17. More on nice guy Mirko

Person 2: "But, umm, he's alright. But that poor -- what's it, Mirko? Yeah, I think he's just -- he's -- he's a friendly guy, tries to be friendly but I just don't think that --"

Person 1: "He looks like a -- Chernobyl (laughing)"

18. "Papa" Russ? Hmmm.

Person 1: "Oh no, she's -- not for awhile. They'll wait til Barbara and me leave, which we probably will eventually, right. I will for sure. And, uh, Vic will be head of HR just like Russ - Papa Russ - promised her."

19. What Victoria did - and Person 1 knew all along - but never did anything about (even though Waqar was her friend as well). Hmm, nice friend huh?

Person 1:
"Susan put the pieces of the puzzle together regarding the accusation of gender bias and all this stuff -- because Victoria also said that Waqar harassed -- sexually harassed --- XXXXXX and Waqar called XXXXXXX and XXXXX said 'No, it's not true. I never said that you harassed me.'"

Person 2:
"Oh really?"

Person 1: "So that's -- again -- I mean, Victoria, you know she's just out to get Waqar."

20. ... And here's the admission that Person 1 knew all along, but did nothing to stop Victoria's vendetta against Waqar. What a fine HR Manager she must be - just hope you don't have any confidential information you've trusted with her!!

Person 1:
"In a way it was wearing down on our conscience for a long time -- both of us, right? Because we know Vic was doing something wrong, slandering him like that. When Waqar really didn't do anything that bad to Victoria. He didn't. So, anyway."

21. Person 1's take on Victoria's seemingly jealous/vengeful streak and ability to get people fired.

Person 1:
"Victoria was going to stab us in the back. And she was going to stab me -- the minute I wouldn't want to be her assistant. Because the minute I'd be like 'Excuse me, I'm smarter than you, I do all the work here. I'm not going to be reporting to you.'"

Person 2:
"Right."

Person 1:
"She'd get rid of me. Obviously. She'd see my attitude and that I don't want to be her gopher and she'd get rid of me. Just like she got rid of Sarah, just like she got -- tried to get -- and helped to get rid of Frances. The way she wanted Jill out, because she was jealous, because Jill was gorgeous. And the way she hates Anabela."

Person 2:
"And she wants you out..."

Person 1:
"And the way she wanted you out."

Person 2:
"Who, Victoria?"

Person 1:
"Yeah."

Person 2:
"How's that?"

Person 1:
"She was telling me I should have you fired."

22. And the best piece of evidence? Person 1 confesses that she *had* to press charges against Person 2 so that the company wouldn't be responsible for whatever happened between them. I rest my case.

Person 1:
"And I think what they feared more than anything that if I don't press charges. What if we start talking again and another issue pops up. What if it's worse? Then the company could be held liable, right? That's what they are thinking about. They always think about the company -- it's not like they were truly worried about me."

25. And more on that subject ...

Person 2:
"That's someone who's warning me."

Person 1:
"Yeah. So -- only a friend warns you. Right?"

Person 2:
"Yep."

Person 1:
"So that's worse. That's very damaging. They're thinking 'Well, here she was thinking -- you know here we're telling her to get a restraining order. And here he was being all erratic and obsessed and emotional -- and look how it ended? And they expect us to hate each other, Right? And I'm supposed to be afraid of you, possibly, and think maybe you were going to come and kill me -- and now I'm warning you to be careful."

26. Person 1 filed a complaint against Person 2 in August, 2000 for harassment. However, less than two weeks later they were talking and socializing again. Again she was warned in November but they continued contact. Here, in December, Person 1 relays a conversation with her manager in which she is asked why she continued contact after such serious allegations.

Person 1:
"And she's like, 'No, I would like to know what's going on'. I'm like 'What do you mean?' And she's like 'XXXX, you had an agreement. You signed an agreement.' And I'm like, 'What do you mean? What are you talking about?' And she's like, 'Well you tell me what happened, XXXX? You made some very serious allegations against Mr.XXXXXXXXXX. You accused him of sexual harassment.' And I'm like, 'What? I -- I never called it sexual harassment. I said 'You know--' "

Person 2:
"Sorry, this was after my meeting with Susan?"

Person 1:
"Yeah."

Person 2:
"Okay."

Person 1:
"And she's like 'You made some serious allegations, you know. Under a court of law those still stand.' And she's like, 'When did you decide to break the agreement?'"

27. ... And apparently her manager knew the "agreement" was broken ... or did she?

Person 1:
"And I'm like 'What do you mean?' And I'm like, you know, like, 'Whatever happens since then doesn't count.' And she's like 'Of course it counts. Of course it counts. A sexual harassment investigation is -- being pursued still. Because the agreement was broken.' And I'm like, 'You knew the agreement was broken.' And I'm like -- and she's like, 'But agreements like that don't get broken, XXXXX.' "

28. ... Now the admission Person 1 knew that *any* contact with Person 2 could lead to his dismissal, but she did so anyway and the rest is history. Of course, because of this he couldn't be terminated ... but boy, this would really be useful if a certain someone wanted to file a lawsuit against our company for wrongful dismissal.

Person 1:
"And I said, 'I -- I believe that if we broke the contract, and we started talking again, that -- that the contract would no longer be in effect.'"

Person 2:
"Right."

Person 1:
"And I had to make it -- And she said, 'Oh, so you know the contract has been broken? And now, he can be terminated because he -- did you understand -- was it in your understanding that he'd be terminated the minute it would be broken?' And I was like, 'Okay, XXXXX, think really hard' And I said 'Yes'."

29. Apparently, our senior management wanted to know a lot more than if they were just "talking" again ...

Person 1:
"I'm surprised they asked me so many questions. Like personal questions and they didn't ask you any."

Person 2:
"Yeah, I can't believe they asked if we slept together."

Person 1:
"More than that, my dear."

Person 2:
"What else?"

Person 1:
"Oh my god! I can't even remember!"

30. The plot to expose Mark's checkered past ...

Person 1:
"I think the Mark XXXXXX article is a good start. I really do. It's something he would never expect. And him being in India -- it's perfect timing. Perfect. He's not even in the office to raise hell. Rayan's gone."

Person 2:
"Yep."

Person 1:
"It's beautiful."

Person 2:
"There's no one to come along and sort of -- deal with it."

Person 1:
"But we're sure it can't be traced right?"

Person 2:
"Oh yeah. It cannot be traced. It's impossible."
